First Tandem Paragliding Flight in Medellín

Your first tandem flight is less complicated than it looks from the ground. The pilot handles the wing. Your job is to follow the briefing, move when asked and communicate clearly.

Takeoff

Most tandem launches involve moving forward with the pilot as the wing inflates and begins to carry your weight. Follow the pilot’s instructions rather than trying to sit early.

Weather

Flying depends on suitable wind and weather. A good operator may delay, shorten, reschedule or cancel rather than force a marginal flight.

What to wear

Closed shoes, comfortable pants and a light layer are a sensible baseline. Conditions at the launch site can feel cooler than central Medellín.

Motion sickness

If you are prone to motion sickness, mention it before takeoff. Smooth sightseeing-style flying may feel very different from aggressive turns.
